The campaign week is set to take place from 9th – 15th September 2024 with activity taking place throughout the month and aims to promote Welsh Government’s vision to establish Wales as a “Second Chance Nation” for lifelong learning.

The campaign aims to connect people to a wide range of learning opportunities, demonstrate the benefits of adult learning, and celebrate the achievements of people, projects and organisations in Wales championing and participating in learning and skills.

A nation of second chances

The campaign will inspire and engage adults to take a step back into learning to improve their confidence and wellbeing, switch careers, progress in work, discover a newfound passion and connect with other people or to seek advice and guidance on the existing pathways available to them. This is achieved by collaborating with our campaign partners across the sector on the promotion of online, live and in-person events, courses, taster sessions, open days, resources and careers advice and guidance. The content will be signposted on our website www.adultlearnersweek.wales throughout September with a focus on special events taking place during campaign week.

We want Adult Learners’ Week to be the catalyst that inspires and mobilises people to change their story to lead better and more fulfilling lives. The campaign will offer people a second chance and the confidence they need to move forward and access learning opportunities and to seek advice and guidance.
