Calvin joined NIACE Cymru as a Project Officer in October 2015 after 7 years with Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council's Adult Education department, where he played a vital role in respect of the Adult Education Service's work with the Adult and Community Learning Partnership.
This included the development of new county-wide employability programmes in partnership with Communities First, Careers Wales and Jobcentre Plus.
He was responsible for the effective management and systematic development of the Adult Education Service's Management Information Systems to meet the needs of each service area, and for the provision, analysis and reporting of Statutory performance figures.
He also managed and oversaw the Quality and Accreditation team, ensuring that the Adult Education Service met the standards set by Estyn and relevant Awarding Bodies.
Calvin has over 9 years experience of European funded delivery programmes ranging from brokering Pro Bono support of private business for 3rd sector organisations through the European Regional Development Fund, to being responsible for the development and successful management of Rhondda Cynon Taff’s Bridges into Work Programme which was part funded by the European Social Fund, and delivered in partnership with 5 other local Authorities across the SE Wales valleys.
Calvin’s career has spanned private, public and 3rd sector organisations and hopes some of this experience will help NIACE Cymru in securing a sustainable future for Adult Learning in Wales.
Originally from the North West of England, Calvin moved to Rhondda Cynon Taff in 2004 where he enjoys playing 5 a side football, and spending time with his young family in the surrounding countryside.
