Kat Keeble-Buckle is a tutor who goes the extra mile for her students. She brings together a passion for her subject and her students, alongside a belief in the power of adult education to transform lives.

As well as excellent teaching practice, she gives students opportunities to widen their experiences within the professional world and to make a difference in their communities. This includes giving her students the opportunity to gain practical experience to exhibit their paintings as part of the Humans of Cardiff project and to work on the Roald Dahl City of the Unexpected event.

Kat also makes sure learners are given the opportunity to travel abroad and to experience first-hand the creativity of other countries. Closer to home, Kat and her learners make pillows for breast cancer patients through the Heart Pillow Project, raising funds for Velindre Hospital.

Showing her continued passion for her subject and progression opportunities for her students, Kat has now established the Fashion Styling Foundation Degree at Cardiff and Vale College which gives students the chance to develop their skills, knowledge and experience and has been commended by the University of South Wales.

In addition to this, Kat has been appointed as an Achievement Coach, within the College, where she supports staff members to improve the quality of teaching within the department. Her mantra is, “It’s never too late to be what we might have been, it’s never too late to start something new.”
