Labour market analysis
Our regular analysis of labour market statistics shows what they mean the world of work overall and for employment opportunities for different groups and areas.
Our business is to look at what works and what doesn’t in learning, skills and employment, and we use statistical analysis as part of this.
This involves producing our own data such as the Adult participation in learning survey, analysis of official releases such as monthly labour and employment statistics, and combining government statistics with our original findings as we did in the Youth Opportunity Index.

Our Youth Opportunity Index brings together the key outcomes both in terms of education and employment for young people in Wales.
Our survey series, which began in 1996, provides a unique overview of how many adults take part in learning, their reasons for doing so or not doing so, and how this varies by group and area.
