What can Wales learn from the Republic of Ireland about learner participation in adult education?
Join us as we share some of the lessons learned from our Taith Learner Ambassador project in the Republic of Ireland.
The event will be an opportunity to hear about the development of the Learner Ambassador framework and how this can be adopted by providers to engage with learners as local learning advocates.
The Republic of Ireland has a history of using learner ambassadors to shape provision. Working alongside AONTAS in Ireland who have a “learners as leaders” programme, we have developed and piloted a framework of learning for providers in Wales to support learners to act as ambassadors for lifelong learning to strengthen learner voice in Wales. The Learner Ambassador programme will look to support and develop the skills and knowledge of learners to reach out to communities to expand participation, promote benefits and identify and shape opportunities to expand provision.
Join us as we hear from AONTAS on their work on learner voice in Ireland, and hear directly from learners in Wales that have been involved who have piloted some of the programme and joined the partnership on a mobility to the UNESCO Learning City of Cork.
The Taith Learner Ambassador Programme is a partnership with representatives from Ceredigion Council, Neath Port Talbot Adult Learning Partnership, Adult Learning Wales, Carmarthenshire Adult Community Learning, Conwy & Denbighshire ACL partnership, Gwynedd & Môn ACL Partnership, Cardiff and Vale College, Coleg Gwent and Learning and Work Institute.
