Engaging and motivating more adults to have the confidence to join adult learning and listening to learners about what works is essential to drive up the skills levels across Wales. The Medr Strategic Plan identifies learner voice and learner engagement as key priorities.

Providers across the tertiary education sector have been reviewing approaches to learner engagement and outreach. With funding from Taith, links were made with Aontas in Ireland and a partnership of Adult Community Learning Partnerships across Wales, to learn and share practice on building a framework for learner voice and learning ambassadors.

This resource provides insight into involving learners in the planning, delivery and promotion of adult learning. Enabling their voices to be heard in curriculum development, quality improvement, understanding more about the barriers to engagement and creating policy built on meaningful feedback. This resource also recognises the effectiveness of peer-to-peer advocacy, existing learners can play a powerful role in motivating others to engage, using their experiences to provide trusted support to others and as sign posters to opportunities.
